Also, the chair's back is not in the proper position and the screen is on the wrong side, under the chair. Audiences will be able to observe the video by raising their heads from beneath the tall chair, which represents a person's future position, job, and wealthy destination. We'd like to sit higher up, but we can only see from the bottom. It's like gazing down from above at a chair. It's about some folks sitting at inappropriate heights. It's like getting elected by the people and then taking a bribe and looking at it incorrectly, yet karma is real and ready to strike. The ax is cruel, it divides and breaks things, but that's what people do. A single place, in its essence, might be apodictic. But when shaped through an individual’s perception, it is incomparably idiosyncratic. In this context, crossing into others’ bubbles of reality elevates one’s level of consciousness. From the earliest times of history, the desire for closed space, in which humans have sought refuge to protect themselves from natural harm, has become an integral part of everyday life. Through these instincts and the interactions that follow, the identity of place shifts its notion in a universally unique sense. Home, stripped from every notion outside of its door when it's shut, is what each individual finds within, carries along, and cultivates throughout their journey. Therefore, the concept of location is futile. I wanted to embrace the ridiculousness of the process of observation while working on the installation and moving picture. I did not know how the project would turn out before I started it. Nothing was pre-planned. I knew there was a possibility of a failure. After all, it’s only an attempt to capture the complexity of the processes. I didn’t want the work to be sensible. Rather, I wanted to invite the experience of the unknown, of the absurd. After all, the modern world is prone to over-rationalization. The desire to simplify all the information we receive from the world is continual. This constant translation process gives very little room for uncertainty. The human intellect, with its clear limits, is incapable of processing all information. He entered the room. The floor was wooden and loud, making high-pitched screechy sounds under his feet. The room was a Biodiversity Section of the Historical Museum of the Shiibeediioom. He could feel the odorant molecules of pastness, the smell of archival chemicals and dust in the air. The room was full of arid, preserved plants and taxidermied creatures of the past. These flora and fauna, which seemed drying and decomposing in front of his eyes in a hanging manner, were definitely here, in front of him, in this particular room. They were being held by steel, the steel by screws. The artifacts of the exposition were part of the space, that specific constellation of walls, floor, and ceiling, which mapped the borders of that room in his mind. The presence of these artifacts in this particular space also creates an absence in their original areas of existence, where they were grown and taken from. This absence is also a kind of existence, he thought. But the empty spaces they left behind in the soil were probably now being overtaken by the over-growth of weeds, by new flora, new molecules. Therefore, their absence, their only remaining trace of existence in the area of their origin, was also ceasing to exist. The archive of absence. It dries out over this period and serves as a holder for Christmas baubles, candles, etc. For reasons of assimilation, my family has been hanging this tree from the ceiling with the top pointing downwards during this period since 1992 until now (2024). This keeps it moist for longer. Having a Christmas tree in the home is standard here (southern Germany). With the transreligious translation and rotation, the tree remains in the room for longer and is then sawn off about 15 centimetres from the top together with the hook. The result is the Christmas stump, which then hangs from the ceiling throughout the year as a reminder of the tree. It was there that he was informed him and other Erasmus students about the mass decline of pine trees in Hungary and other neighbouring countries. Due to factors such as climate change and not being indigenous to the land, the trees are prematurely dying in large numbers and this outcome has resulted in their inevitable disappearance. As a personal response to both the site of the stumps and the context of the pine trees on Gellért Hill, Fine Art student Danny Foley created a series of three paintings through a process of gathering source material from the site. By performing and engaging with both the pine tree stumps and the ground they once lived, he utilizes the gathered source material of the experience with the site to infuse his paintings with the presence of the body and the trees.
